Latest News - September, 2012
Work has begun on initial recordings for what will be the debut album from FIRMAMENT. Initial demos for fourteen songs are being hammered into shape before the addition of guest guitars, drums, vocals and whatever else is added. More news as it happens...​
Another musical talent onboard...
A very talented gentleman, Gary Ogilvie has agreed to add guitar to some tracks for the forthcoming debut album. Gary has worked with FIRMAMENT founder, Lee Harding before: adding some beautiful guitar work to an independently released album by Prog Folk project, SydeEffekt (itself an offshoot from Folk Rock band, Thymentyde) that was helmed by Lee and close friend, Ray Box before the latter's untimely death at the end of 2010. Gary's playing shone out on the track "The Blacksmith" - a traditional folk song that was given a radical update. That Gary Ogilvie has agreed to record material for FIRMAMENT can only bode well for the finished album.

Stop The Press!!!
​For many, it seemed that, suddenly, things had gone quiet in the FIRMAMENT camp. Almost 2 months of no postings almost anywhere on the Net. In truth, a LOT has been happening "behind the scenes"...​

...the implementing of a lot of new
recording equipment (now 'up & running'),
and the composition of new songs - which
is still ongoing. Indeed, Lee Harding has been incredibly prolific over the past 6 weeks or so and has, so far, amassed a further 12 strong song ideas, including a so-far-untitled piece with a running time close to 20 minutes in length. These new songs are so strong that a BIG decision
has been made...

The first album from FIRMAMENT will be
a simultaneous TWO ALBUM RELEASE!!!
​
Titled "VISIONS 1: The Short Straw" and "VISIONS 2: The Long Haul", these cds should, hopefully, have 'something for everyone' - whether it be a 4-5 minute concise song with plenty of hooks or one still with enough "catches" but longer in form (a typical 'Progressive' thing!). As the titles suggest, "The Short Straw" will
have those shorter, more immediate songs (and probable single releases), whilst "The Long Haul" will have fewer, but more extended pieces.

More news on this and the forthcoming announcement that 2 guest vocalists and
a saxophonist are soon to be added to the roster of talent to make FIRMAMENT a reality, coming soon. Watch this space.
